Background and Objective: Anatomy education is fundamental to basic medical sciences, requiring the integration of modern technologies with traditional pedagogy to enhance learning outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate medical students’ satisfaction with a hybrid educational program involving a digital dissection table combined with conventional teaching methods at Shahroud University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2024 involving 207 general medicine students. Data were collected using a valid, reliable, researcher-made questionnaire designed to assess satisfaction with integrating the dissection table into conventional instruction. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 18) through descriptive and inferential statistical tests.
Findings: Of the participants, 104 (50.3%) were male. The highest frequencies were observed in the 21–24 age group (54.1%), a GPA of 16–17 (65.7%), and semesters 7–10 (65.7%). The overall mean satisfaction score was 88.53 ± 17.53, indicating a desirable level of satisfaction. Subgroup analysis revealed higher mean satisfaction scores among female students (90.87 ± 16.87), those with a GPA of 18 or higher (97.00 ± 15.04), students aged 18–21 (91.96 ± 15.04), and those in semesters 3–6 (90.12 ± 18.10). Statistically significant relationships were found between gender (P=0.001) and age (P=0.001) with satisfaction levels. However, no significant relationship was observed between GPA or academic semester and satisfaction.
Conclusions: The implementation of hybrid anatomy education combining digital dissection tables with traditional methods resulted in high levels of student satisfaction. Consequently, the continuation, infrastructure strengthening, and purposeful integration of this modern educational tool into the medical curriculum are highly recommended to deepen learning and improve the overall quality of anatomy education.
