Background and Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate self-directed learning in students of the Faculty of Rehabilitation, Babol University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: 126 students of the Faculty of Rehabilitation, Babol University of Medical Sciences participated in this study. Williamson's Self-Directed Learning Questionnaire (2007) was used to collect data. Google Forms was used to provide the questionnaire to the participants. The participants' scores on different subscales of the questionnaire were compared according to age group and gender.
Findings: The participants had the moderate level of knowledge about self-directed learning. There was no significant difference in the scores of Williamson questionnaire subscales between different age groups. Also, there was no significant difference in the scores of male and female students in the questionnaire subscales.
Conclusions: It seems that age and gender variables do not have a significant effect on self-directed learning. It is recommended to design training workshops to increase the awareness of rehabilitation students about the benefits of self-directed learning
