Abstract:   (86 Views)
Background and Objective: In this study, the views of students at the Faculty of Rehabilitation in Babol regarding clinical education were investigated.
Methods: A questionnaire with 33 questions and 5 subscales was used to assess the students' perspectives, with each question having three options: yes, partially, and no. Additionally, the views of students across different academic disciplines were compared. 100 participants were enrolled in this study.
Findings: The average total score of the questionnaire was considered to be at a relatively desirable level (22.37). The highest percentage of "yes" responses related to the clinical instructor included the instructor's emphasis on the student's timely presence in the clinic, the instructor's interest in clinical work (72%), and the clinical instructor's sufficient experience (76%). Also, the lowest percentage of "yes" responses was related to welfare facilities in the clinical environment (20%). Students from the three physiotherapy disciplines did not show a statistically significant difference in their views on clinical education and its subscales, including educational goals and programs, clinical instructor, student interaction, educational environment, and supervision and evaluation (p-value < 0.05).
Conclusions: It seems that the views of rehabilitation students at Babol University of Medical Sciences regarding clinical education are at a relatively desirable level, although components such as welfare facilities and greater attention to students' opinions in internship planning should be given more consideration. Furthermore, the satisfactory performance of clinical instructors is one of the strengths of clinical education at this faculty.
