Study the opinions of occupational health students about the characteristics of effective teaching

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Research on the use of standards for effective teaching at the University is effective more than anything to find deficiencies and compensate for the short comings of the training, because it is a fairly comprehensive picture of the quality of educational offers which led to strengthening of the strengths and eliminate weaknesses in the quality of professors teaching. This study was carried out of to determine the characteristics of effective teaching from the perspective of occupational students.

METHODS: This descriptive- cross sectional study was conducted on 92 students of Occupational health students. For gathering data questionnaire including the most effective teaching indicators in four areas of scholarships, teaching method, communication ability and personal character was used. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS (ver.20) and multivariable analysis of variance (MANOVA).

FINDINGS: The results base on students viewpoints showed that factors influencing the effectiveness of teaching are: eloquent expression of basic characteristics of area (64%), Its contact between the school and the student's career in teaching methodology (56%), Mastery of the subject in the fields of research (61%), in the field of strength relationship with student, friendly relationship with student (48%) respectively.

CONCLUSION: From the perspective of students, eloquent expression has the greatest impact on teaching effectiveness, so by concentrating more as well as using appropriate teaching methods, strengthening personal character and scholarship it is possible to achieve teaching effectiveness and improve quality of education.
