BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Electronic learning is described as any kind of learning that carried out by electronic media. The aim of this research was to assess e-learning providing status in Yazd University of Medical Sciences. METHODS: This descriptive research was carried out in the year 2013- 2014. Eighty two faculty members, five managers, ninety two employees and one hundred forty one students of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences participated in this research. Data were gathered by using questionnaires that were recommended in "proposed model to assess e-learning providing status of Iranian universities". Validity of these questionnaires was confirmed in the previous studies and reliability of it accepted by some experts. By using descriptive statistics, one sample T-test and SPSS 16 software, data were analyzed. FINDINGS: The finding of this research showed that the mean score of assessing indicators was 2.8 out of 10, in two items of software providing and supervision, the status of this university is good. CONCLUSION: The results of this research showed the relative fitness of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences to implement e-learning courses, therefore policy makers of the university should plan to eliminate weakness points determined in this research and improve e-learning courses.
