Background and Objective: With the advent of the corona virus pandemic, more attention has increasingly been drawn upon the significance of learning management systems. Nonetheless, there is a paucity of research on applying such systems for learning English for academic purposes. Thus, the current study aims at exploring the perspectives of students at medical universities in Iran toward learning English for academic purposes via using Navid learning management system.

Methods: The participants of this research consisted of 580 students who were studying in five universities of medical sciences located in different provinces of Iran. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through deploying descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS version 26.

Findings: Easier delivery of assignments, facilitating learning process, multimedia educational materials, cost-effectiveness, variety of educational materials, the possibility of continuous review, receiving feedback, strengthening reading skills, learning at different times and places, and meeting educational needs were considered to be the benefits of the system. The existence of software problems, professors and students’ lack of knowledge of Navid, the lack of interaction between students, difficulty self-evaluating and problems with holding online classes were regarded as the challenges; solving software problems, updating the system, fostering communication among students, facilitating self-evaluation and holding workshops were some of the ways to improve Navid learning management system.

Conclusion: Navid learning management system was recognized as a facilitator in the process of learning English for academic purposes by meeting the educational needs of medical students.
